Background
Wilmore Engineering Solutionz is a multifaceted engineering company providing a wide range of services including General Contracting, Industrial and Domestic Electrical Engineering, Procurement, CCTV Installation & Home Automation, Renewable Energy Systems, Marine Electrical Services, Consultancy, Manpower Provision, and Training & Support Services.
Through its technical arm − the Wilmore Engineering Institute − the company trains aspiring engineers in industrial electricity and related disciplines. As the institute grew, the management wanted to enhance the credibility and security of their training certificates.
Challenge
Before our engagement, the institute's certification process was entirely manual. Graduates received physical certificates that were difficult to verify, leading to issues of authenticity, forgery, and administrative inefficiency.
The management needed a reliable digital validation system where anyone could confirm the legitimacy of a certificate by simply scanning a QR code.
Solution
Our team began with a series of consultative meetings with Wilmore's management to fully understand their operational flow and technical requirements.
We then proposed and developed a QR-code-based Certificate Validation System that allows each graduate's certificate to carry a unique, verifiable digital signature. When scanned, the QR code redirects to a secure online database containing verified student records and certificate details.
This approach aligned with Wilmore's commitment to innovation and professionalism, giving both students and employers a seamless verification experience.
Implementation
The project was executed over a 6-week period, involving:
- Planning & System Design: Defining database structure, user access roles, and validation logic.
- Development: Building a web-based platform that generates certificates dynamically and embeds a unique QR code for each student.
- Testing: Running internal quality checks to ensure accuracy, speed, and security.
- Training & Handover: Providing on-site guidance to Wilmore's admin team for managing and issuing certificates independently.
